Tuileries Quarter
First constructed as a fortress in 1190 by King Philippe-Auguste.
Since then it has served as a house for kings and emperors of
France. It is now houses one of the most important art collections
in the world.

Inside the Louvre
The new main entrance ( La Pyramid ) designed by architect I M Pei
was open in 1989. Upon entering the Pyramid corridors radiate out to
each wing of the museum. The works of art are displayed on three
floors.
