Located just north of St Mary's cathedral on Macquarie
Street are the Hyde Park Barracks. Built in 1802 to serve
as barracks for military troops they are now a museum
that details Sydney's history. They are open most days
from dawn to dusk and entry is free.
Located on Oxford Street between Greens and Oatley
Roads Paddington. Originally built to accomodate a
British Regiment of up to 1,000 soldiers, it took seven
years to complete. It still serves as a military barracks
and headquarters as well as housing some excellent
historical displays and buildings.
Located between just north of Hyde Park Barracks is

east of the Royal Botanic Gardens
Located in the centre of Port Jackson north of Mrs
Macquarie's point. Housed on a small island with its Martello tower it is a central piece of Sydney Harbour.
