The Situation
Keeping up with the competition is hard enough but what about when you also have to run a business ? Don't be fooled, for most people running a business is tough and don't think that it gets easier once you have started, challenges like expanding your business can also take a heavy toll on the business owner financially as well as physically.
Why do I know ?
I established my own IT business "The Computer Information Agency" back in 1995. Still having it operating 10 years later on is, according to all the statistics, a miracle ! Don't get me wrong, I still struggle with business issues every day but I like to think that I have learned a lot in my time, much of which can be passed on to prevent other people from making the same mistakes I've made. Not only do I have the runs on the board, so to speak, but I also have some relevant academic training ( a Masters of Business Administration from Deakin University ). I believe the combination of knowledge and experience in IT and business makes me well qualified to assist other professionals.
Where to start ?
A good place to start is probably to read a number of short chapters I have written around starting and running a business. These are based off my experiences and hopefully provide some insight and knowledge. It is my hope that it will at least make you aware of things that took me years to work out.
