Jungle World - A glass enclosed tropical rainforest houses mammals, birds and reptiles from South Asia. Himalayan Highlands - Endangered species such as snow leopards and red pandas can be found here. World or Birds - Exotic birds from all over the world live in the natural surroundings of a simulated rainforest. A simulated tropical thunderstorm occurs at 2pm each day and an artificial waterfall rushes down a fibreglass cliff. World of Darkness - Allows visitors to see creatures of the night, including : bats, leopard cats, mole rats and owl monkeys. World of Reptiles - See snakes, turtles and crocodiles You'll also find other animals such as birds of prey, penguins and seals, flamingos and more. Kids can crawl through a prairie dog tunnel, climb on a spider's web, try on a turtle shell, pet and feed the animals. Sea Lions - 10.30am and 3pm daily Makes a very nice day out as there are many interesting things to do and see. However beware that there are additional costs for things such as the Bengali Express and the Skyfari gondola. However the layout of the zoo lends itself well to self discovery in a relaxed atmosphere. Great work has been done to make the place feel less like a zoo and more like an animal habitat and it is accomplished with great success. If you get the chance it is highly recommended. |
